Dulce's Dream

The Run For The Cure is the largest fundraising event for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation of Canada.  The Runs are held in major cities across Canada in October of each year. Similar Runs are held in the United States.

Dulce's neighbour, Pat Dempster, found out about the Run about 3 weeks prior to the event.  Pat wanted to do something to support Dulce in her battle against breast cancer.  She had recently taken up running.  So she got the names of 12 of Dulce's friends and started calling to form a team.

On October 4, 1998, "Dulce's Dream Team" participated in Vancouver, B.C. as well as in Montreal, Quebec and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Dulce's Dream Team was the largest community team in the Vancouver event (and largest overall team) and won an award.  More than 250 people joined the Dream Team.  More than $14,000 was raised for breast cancer research.  Participants are already planning for next year's Run.
